Running is enabled by default. Turn on “Support other workout types” in Settings to include traditional and functional strength workouts.
Exports include available routes, distance, duration, calories, and heart rate. Missing data cannot be recreated. Strength exports contain workout summaries, not exercise, set, or repetition logs.
Yes, for running activities. Enable “Garmin → Apple Health” in Settings, sign in, and allow Health write access. Previously imported activities and likely matches may be skipped to reduce duplicates.
In Settings → Background sync, enable uploads and downloads separately. Download controls appear when “Garmin → Apple Health” is enabled. Automatic sync applies to workouts started after that direction was enabled.
Choose running, strength, or both for uploads. Distance and GPS requirements apply only to running. Workouts missing required data stay pending and are checked again.
Scheduled checks cover the last 24 hours plus pending uploads. iOS controls timing, so transfers may be delayed. Opening the app also checks pending workouts. Stay signed in to Garmin.
Choose “Check sync candidate” in Background sync settings. It checks the last 24 hours and pending workouts using your enabled directions and upload conditions, without transferring anything. Review the results, then choose “Run sync”. This does not import your full history.
Enable completion notifications in Background sync settings and allow notifications in iOS. Each completed automatic transfer can show the workout name, date, distance, and duration.
